Short answers to what players often ask about the forums, teams and playing fair. For the whole story, see Forums, mail and blogs, Teams and Playing fair.
Where can I ask a question about the game?
EditLook in the help files first (Helpfiles, under Help in the menu): many questions are answered there. Then search the forums: the Search button on Forums opens the Topics tab of Search, which finds topics by the words in them. If nobody has asked before, press New topic in Questions and answers. Ideas and feedback go in Other discussions, and Help me!, under Help in the menu, lists every place to find help.
How do I send mail to another player?
EditOpen their profile, by clicking their name or finding them on Search under Communicate, and press Send a message; to answer a message, press Reply on it. You can send up to 20 messages an hour, once you have confirmed your e-mail address. Only you and the player you write to see a message: the game staff read one only when it is reported to them. Deleting a message removes only your own copy.
What is my blog for?
EditEvery player has a blog, for writing that all players can read; the same rules apply to it as to mail and the forums. Write in yours from My blog, under your picture at the top right: a title and up to 10,000 characters a post, which you can delete later. Blogs, under Communicate in the menu, lists everyone's latest posts, and each blog shows how often it has been viewed. Blog posts take no comments.
How do I join or leave a team?
EditOpen Teams, in the menu under your picture at the top right, for a list of every team. Anyone can join an open team with Join. A private team needs an invitation from its leader or second in charge, which shows at the top of Teams with Join and Decline. You can be in one team at a time, and you leave with Leave team on your team's page. See Teams.
Can I start or lead a team?
EditStarting a team takes VIP membership: on Teams, fill in Start a team with a name of 3 to 40 characters, a shout box and whether it is open to all, then press Start team. You become its leader and can name a second in charge, who must have VIP too. If the leader leaves, goes bankrupt or their VIP runs out, the second in charge takes over if they have VIP; otherwise the VIP member with the best C-rank does. With no VIP member left, the team is dissolved.
How do I get a company logo?
EditA logo takes VIP membership. Upload it under Company logo on the Profile tab of Settings: a PNG, GIF or JPG of exactly 468 by 60 pixels, no more than 50 KB and not animated. It must show your company name or player name, be suitable for everyone, and contain no web address and nothing copyrighted or trademarked. Download PNG and Download PSD there give you a blank template at the right size.
Why does my logo not show yet?
EditEvery new logo waits for the game staff to approve it, and until then Company logo in Settings says Waiting for approval. Once it says Approved, it shows above your company profile, at the top of your own pages while you are a VIP member (unless you chose Other players' logos), and in turn at the top of other players' pages. Not approved means the file was removed, so upload a new one that keeps to the rules. Players rate logos on Logos, under Info, and the more points a logo got last week, the more often others see it.
How do I report a player, a post or a bad name?
EditUse the report link: Report under a forum or blog post, Report this message on mail you received, and Report this player, Report this company, Report this logo or Report this team's name or shout box on those pages. A company report covers its secretary's and buildings' names as well as its own. Pick what is wrong, add a short note if you like, and send it. The game staff look at every report, and the player is not told who reported them; you can send up to 10 a day.
How do I stop a player from contacting me?
EditBlock them: press Block on their profile, or Block followed by their name under a message they sent. After that neither of you can send the other mail or team invites, and their forum posts are folded away for you; they are not told. You can block up to 200 players, and unblock them from their profile or under Blocked players on the Profile tab of Settings. The game staff cannot be blocked.
I found a bug. Where do I report it?
EditIn the Report errors and bugs forum: say what you did and what happened, as exactly as you can. Don't use a bug to your advantage, as the rules forbid it. If a page says Something went wrong, the game staff have already been told; if it keeps happening, send them the reference shown on that page.
How do I contact the game staff?
EditHelp me!, under Help in the menu, lists the Game staff: click a name to see their profile, or press Send a message beside it. Their profiles carry a Moderator badge. If you think a report was handled wrongly, or something done to your account should not have been, write to the address on the User agreement page within 30 days, saying what happened.
Can I give money or goods to another player?
EditThere is no way to send money, goods or shares to a player you choose: buyers on the market get the goods that have been for sale longest, and buyers of a company's shares get the one that has been for sale longest. Don't play a second account to feed your company, and don't use accounts to help one another: those accounts may be closed. The game staff use sign-in data to spot several accounts played by one person. See Playing fair.
Can I sabotage another company?
EditNo: there is no way to attack another company. You compete with other players by trading on the market, buying shares and climbing the rankings, and nobody can take over your company by buying its shares. Bullying, threats and harassment break the rules wherever they happen, so report them and block the player.
How can I suggest a change to the wiki?
EditPress Suggest an edit at the foot of a wiki page while you are signed in to the game. Change the text, check it under As readers will see it, say what you changed and why, and press Send suggestion. The game staff read every suggestion before anything changes and may touch it up; tick Thank me by my username on the page if it is taken to be thanked on the page. Your suggestions, at the top of that page, shows what the staff made of each one.
