Trading shares
Buying and selling shares in other players' companies: how orders work, the daily limits, share prices, risk, dividends and S-points.

Contents
You can buy shares in other players' companies. They pay you dividends every Sunday, and selling one to another player for more than you paid earns S-points, which decide your S-rank.
Buying a share
EditShares, under The market in the menu, opens Buy shares: every share you can buy right now. Select Also show shares I can't buy now to see the rest.
Click a share to open its page, then press Buy. The price leaves your savings at once and the share is yours at the next update. You get the share of that company that has been for sale the longest, not necessarily the one you clicked. If none is left by then, the order is dropped and you get the money back. An order still waiting after 24 hours is dropped too. Waiting orders are listed under My orders, where you can cancel them.
Limits
- You may buy 5 shares a day, and 1 of each company a day.
- You can buy a company's share only while you hold fewer than 2 of it. This counts your own company too.
- Waiting orders count as bought. The day's count starts again at midnight.
Risk
A name in orange (risk class 2 or 3) or red (4 or 5) means the company's owner has been away from the game for some days. A company whose owner stays away 11 days is closed (21 for VIP members), and its shares become worthless.
Share prices
EditEach company's share price moves at midnight with its Company Value and its place in the C-rank, as Selling your own shares explains. A share's page shows how its price has moved and what the company has paid out.
Dividends
EditEvery Sunday at 06:00, and once more just before the round ends, each company pays out of its stockpile: each share receives 2% of it.
- Only your 50 most valuable shares pay you, your own company's included, and of those at most 2 per company.
- 20% tax is taken from what you receive.
- Every £100 you receive earns 1 S-point.
On My shares, set Show to "latest dividend" to see each company's last payout, green on shares that pay you and red on those that do not. VIP members also see each company's stockpile there. The Dividends tab lists what you have received.
Selling
EditOn My shares, select the shares and press:
- Put out for sale: buyers see them 30 to 300 minutes later and pay the share price at the moment they buy. Withdraw from market takes a share back in its first 30 minutes, or once it is on sale.
- Instantly sell to bank for a reduced price: the bank pays 80% of the share's value, less 10% for each risk class above 1, and less 5% for each day of the round's last week.
S-points
EditSelling another company's share to a player for more than you paid earns 1 S-point for every £100 of profit. Only your first 5 such sales to players each day count, whether they made a profit or not. You earn none for selling your own shares, for selling to the bank, or at the end of the round. The Stock points tab lists your trades. S-points also count towards your Career points.
When a company or round ends
EditIf a company closes, the shares you hold in it are worthless. When the round ends, the bank buys every share still held at its reduced price, and no S-points are given.
