Your account stays from round to round; each round you found a new company with it. Signing up asks only for a username, an e-mail address and a password: nothing personal.
Signing up
Edit- Username: the name other players see. It has 3 to 20 characters: letters, numbers, dashes and underscores, with at least one letter.
- Email: an address that is yours to keep. It is not shown to other players unless you choose to show it.
- Password: typed twice. It needs at least 10 characters, with letters and numbers, and must not be one known from a data leak.
You also agree to the user agreement (one account per person, age 13 and over; see Playing fair). A box, already checked, asks whether to e-mail you when a new round starts and how your company finished.
The game then sends you an e-mail with a link. Follow it to confirm your address, and you can start your company (see Founding your company).
Signing in
EditSign in with your e-mail address and password. Keep me signed in saves you signing in every time. If you forget your password, Forgot your password? sends you a link to choose a new one.
Your profile
EditMy profile, in the menu under your picture at the top right, shows what other players see. There you can build your avatar and rename your secretary. You cannot change your e-mail address yourself: ask the game staff, found under Help in the menu.
Settings
EditSettings is in the same menu. Its tabs:
| Tab | What you set |
|---|---|
| Game | Which secretary warnings show on the front page, the look and clock, the tutorial, quick help and page tours |
| Profile | Whether your e-mail is shown on your profile, your company logo, the players you have blocked |
| Which e-mails you get, and connecting your Discord account if the game offers it | |
| Company | Resetting your company, and in some rounds when wealth tax is paid |
| Security | An authenticator app for two-step sign-in, your password, and signing out everywhere else |
| Account | Deactivating or deleting your account |
E-mails
EditUnder the E-mail tab you turn each kind of e-mail on or off:
- Private messages and Secretary messages: an e-mail whenever a player or your secretary writes to you. Off at first.
- Round results and New rounds: how your company finished, and when a new round starts. On if you left the box checked when signing up.
Each of these e-mails has an unsubscribe link. It opens a page with an Unsubscribe button and a Stop every game e-mail button; nothing changes until you press one, and you can undo it there. Your mail app's own unsubscribe button works too. E-mails about your account, such as confirming your address or a password reset you asked for, always come.
Leaving
EditBoth of these start with an e-mail, and nothing happens until you follow its link.
- Deactivate member profile: your company is closed and your profile is hidden. Signing in again brings your profile back.
- Delete my account: your company is closed and you are signed out straight away. After 30 days your e-mail address, your names, your mail and blog posts, the words of your forum posts and your logo are erased for good. Sign in before then to keep your account. Rankings and round results stay, under "Deleted player".
