Shops sell goods from your warehouse to customers. Every unit a shop sells brings in money and adds to your Company Value. Most shops are built downtown; the Gas station stands in the countryside. Buildings lists what each shop sells. Your shops are on the My shops page, under Shops.

Stocking the shelves

Edit

A shop fills itself from your warehouse at every update, so the goods must be there: made by your own factories or bought on The market.

  • A shop keeps up to 30 of each good it sells. On the shop's page you can set a lower amount for each good, or 0 to stop selling it.
  • Locked goods stay in the warehouse.
  • A shop with empty shelves sells nothing.

What decides sales

Edit

Every update the shop itself and each employee in it make production points. The shop's efficiency decides how close to their best they come, and efficiency falls slowly as the building ages (Production and efficiency). On top of that:

  • +30% if the shop is next to a road,
  • +10% if it sells goods from your company's speciality.

At the top of every hour, every 100 points sell one unit of each good the shop has in stock. A shop that sells two goods sells one of each. Points left over carry into the next hour, but never a full unit's worth the shop had no goods for.

Better staff sell more (Hiring staff, Training staff). A shop can be upgraded once it has sold 1,000 units, and again at 3,500 (Upgrading buildings).

Prices

Edit

You don't set shop prices. Each good has one customer price for every shop in the game:

  • 150% of its market price, rounded to a whole unit of money,
  • plus a customer price bonus of 1 for every 50,000 units of the raw material it is made from that are for sale on the market. Raw materials sold in shops, such as stone, get no bonus.

The Prices page's Customer prices tab shows today's figures. They move with the market price, which changes at midnight, and with the raw materials for sale.

What a sale brings

Edit

For each unit sold you get:

  • the customer price, of which 10% goes to your stockpile for your shareholders' dividends and the rest to your savings. On goods you bought on the market, that share is lost instead.
  • +1 CV for the unit, and 1 CV for every £20 that reaches your savings (Company Value and bankruptcy).

Selling a good in your shops lowers the next day's market sales bonus for it, and goods bought on the market earn no purchase bonus when sold in shops (Taxes and bonuses).

Keeping track

Edit

My shops shows each shop's staff, efficiency and what it sold in the last hour; a shop's own page shows its sales today, yesterday and in total. Trends › Sales in shops, a VIP feature, shows the units sold in all shops together.

  • The market How the one shared market works: selling from your warehouse, buy orders and daily limits, how prices change at midnight, and the pages that show them.
  • Selling to the bank Selling goods to the bank for money at once: how the bank's price is worked out, what you give up compared with the market, and when it is worth it.
