Company Value and bankruptcy
What Company Value is and what raises or lowers it, when a company goes bankrupt or is closed, what happens then, and the Bankruptcies page.
Updated
Company Value (CV) is your score. The company with the highest CV when the round ends wins, your C-rank is your place by CV, and your Career points come from it. It also sets how much the bank will lend you. Every company starts with a CV of 5,000.
What changes it
EditMoney itself moves CV: every £20 you earn adds 1, and every £20 you spend takes 1, rounded up.
| Raises CV | Lowers CV |
|---|---|
| Money earned: sales of goods and shares, office income, dividends, the purchase bonus, loans | Money spent: goods, shares, staff, deposits to the salary and gasoline accounts, loan payments, fines, taxes |
| +1 for each unit your factories make | Demolishing a building or selling a vehicle: a small part of its cost |
| +1 for each unit sold in your shops | Negative savings: 1 CV for every 1 the bank covers |
| The market sales bonus | A sales bonus taken back |
| Deliveries by your vehicles | |
| Investing: 1 for every £20, with no spending loss | |
| Donations to the Player of the Day: 1 for every 10 donated |
A new building counts as spending and then adds 10% of its cost back; vehicles and warehouse upgrades add back a smaller part. Zones and building upgrades cost no CV. See Taxes and bonuses for the bonuses and Savings and investments for investing.
To see what moved your CV, open Transactions › Company value for every change in the last week, In and out for the totals by kind, and Changes for day by day.
Bankruptcy
EditA company goes bankrupt at the next update after its CV falls below 1. The usual causes are spending more than you earn and negative savings, which the bank covers from CV during the night (Loans).
A company is also closed when its owner has not used the game for 11 days (21 days for VIP members).
What happens then
- Its buildings come down, and its land goes back on sale 5 to 10 hours later.
- Its staff leave, and others can hire them after 5 to 10 hours.
- The bank takes over its goods, in the warehouse and on the market, and sells them on the market.
- Its waiting orders are cancelled and refunded, and its vehicles are gone.
- Its own shares become worthless and vanish from whoever held them. Shares it held in other companies pass to the bank, which puts them on sale 2 to 22 hours later.
- The bank writes off what is left of its loans.
The company's name stays taken for the rest of the round. While the round runs, you can start again from Start your company, with new starting money.
The Bankruptcies page
EditBankruptcies, under Info, lists every company that closed this round, newest first: when, the player and company, the city, how many days it traded and its CV at the end. Details says why: Bankrupt, Inactive, or Resetting of profile for a company its owner reset. Hover over it for the full reason.
